Warning - ICS Update Broke Hotspot and USB Tether

ST18a updated this afternoon to the second release of ICS (was using first release previous to this).

USB Tethering and Wi-Fi Hotspot are no longer working.  I can connect and get an IP address but no internet access.

This is real bad since this is a primary use for my phone.

UPDATE: Confirmed same behavior with a second laptop ... I can connect to the Wi-Fi hotspot on my phone but no internet access.

UPDATE: iPad via Wi-Fi Hotspot, same thing, gets IP address but no internet access.

I guess I'm one of the lucky users. I hope sony will release an update to fix those bugs. I used tethering just now and it worked, i just tried to know if it will work and it did. I always use hotspot as I find it faster than tethering. And (I don't know if it's just me but) I think the connection is faster when using hotspot than tethering. And also I can't use any internet app on my phone except Opera, the Youtube, stock browser, FB, Gplay is not loading. But on my PC everything works fine, (connected to hotspot) I can watch videos on Youtube and download on internet. What could be the problem?

I have same problem as well. I have arc s. after upgrade to ics from GB, I can no longer use wi-fi hotspot of my phone.

the phone is brought from store unlocked not via data plan or something

the network is SFR France and i use full data plan on the highest plan posibile Absolute Illimithics Pro

we don't know anyting from Sony yet. All we know is Johan, Sony Xperia Support, forwarded it to Sony developers... and we're still waiting with no tether at all

I just update to ICS my ARC (normal) and the Wi-Fi Tether and usb tether are not working. It connects but no data transmits.

In xperia rays models, the issue seems to happen only in ST18a, not in ST18i. This was mentioned in the thread and sony should take it into account when investigating the problem. As far as I know the only difference between these models is in their 3g bands (900/2100 for ST18i, and 850/1900/2100 for ST18a)
