w595 screen display issue

I am having this weird issue with my w595 phone. It has worked perfectly for the last 10 months. But, now the display shows up only intermittently. The display goes blank at times. If you wait for an hour or so, it suddenly comes back up and works without any issue for several hours. Then, you wait for a little bit and the screen goes blank again. What do I need to do to resolve this issue?

Try using the Sony Ericsson Update Service and remember to backup all your data first. If this doesn't work I would open the phone to check all the cables are connected properly or send the phone to a service centre.

My w595 is similar or worse, a repairer saw it as a cable problem, I presume this relates to the slide. Phone is 15 months old.

Can you giv a bit more detail about looking inside?

Well when you open the phone up cables can be loose inside especially as this one is a slider.
