Hi!
Phone: LT26W (Acro S)
I tried to update the software using the latest version of PC Companion, but halfway through the process PC Companion complained that it was unable to download something (which is nonsense, internet was working perfectly fine), and told me to either retry or close the window and disconnect the phone.
After retrying for an hour I closed the window, disconnected the phone, and figured I'll just have to try again.
However, now my phone won't boot up and just gets stuck on the "Sony" logo indefinitely.
The repair function in PC Companion does not work, it won't recognize the phone.
Please instruct me how to get this fixed. Thank you.
Remove the SD and SIM cards > turn off your phone > connect your phone to a wall charger > let it charge for 1 hour > after 1 hour > run PCC > click on repair > follow the steps > do NOT turn on the phone > see if that work
Sorry, that doesn't work.
While the phone is plugged into the charger, the LED is red. Every now and then, the phone tries to turn itself on, but gets stuck on the Sony logo. I can turn it off by pressing OFF + UP.
If I start the repair process in PC Companion and follow the instructions, nothing happens except the red LED on the phone lights up. My computer does not detect the phone.
Please advise what to try next.
Thank you,
Andreas
Next step, contact your local Xperia Care
Okay, I have sent an email to the norwegian Xperia Carebear I will keep this thread open until a solution is found.
I left the phone connected to my computer with PC Companion open in repair mode, and suddenly the phone came to life and the repair process continued. However it failed again just like the first time:
And the phone is back in coma.
You should contact your local Xperia care
In a bizarre turn of events, I was able to complete the repair process using PC Companion. However, even though PC Companion insists that the update was successfull, the phone still won't turn on, and it still shows a permanent red light while charging.
Edit: Also, I have been in contact with Sony Care, and they told me to get lost because the warranty has run out (2 years).
Warranty over is no reason for not assisting you further with providing information about what to do next
Like the phone was in bootloop earlier ( stuck on sony logo ), is it the same even after successful repair through PCC ? or it's just the red LED now ?
I'd say, charge the battery for atleast 12 hours and then try to force restart it using the key combination
Press and hold the "Power" button and "Volume Up" button at the same time for
5 Seconds > Forced Restart
10 Seconds > Forced Shutdown
