Locating owner of Z3??

Hi people

Misses found a z3 on the train last week and was wondering how we could get in contact with the owner before we take it too the police station.

Its been factory reset and had no sim card in it.

I did call Sony up with the IMEI and was told they couldn't give me any info on it.

Is there a way of retreiving info from phone or anything like that to prior to reset?? must be a way surely??

Maybe some insurance database?? It has a crack on the screen so maybe someone 'lost it' to make a claim

Any suggestions would be grateful.

Regards

Hi,

If the phone has been reset to factory settings, there is no way to get back the old data or similar which may could help you to localize the owner. The best in this case would be to visit the police station.

Thank you for response.

But, can't I just give a Sony employee the IMEI number and track them via myxperia and let them know someone on the forum has the phone or something like that?

@Kebablover

That's really nice from you, trying to find the owner, you could contact Sony directly

http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/contactUs/

also, if the phone is network branded, you could take out the SIM card, check which network belongs to, stop by any store (network/carrier) and tell them the situation > provide the IMEI number and keep the phone until they find the owner, they should have that info.

Thanks for your replies guys.

Ill just take it too vodafone in the week.

Half the screen doesnt even work anyway due to the crack so im not sure the owner is bothered about it.

Cheers
