My phone failed toup date any body help me? it is showing  "unable to install or start phone software update components"

Why do you prepare the update carefully before you notice me in PC companion, Sony? I think it is an upgrade so I erase all my date so the upgrade can work better but now the pc companion and update service say that it is an error so I can't upgrade. Now I need to install again all my software and music I'm very disappointed

I don't want to back up because I hear some people have some problem when thay upgrade to ICS and they advise to erase all date before upgrading. Also I want to install all of this things again after upgrading to ICS

Just checked my PCC today and I saw an update.

I tried it but it says "unable to install or start phone software update components" (as same as this thread started)

I check here and see many people have the same problem.

So please Sony, or some admins or moderators here, try to fix this as soon as possible.

I bet you (Sony) won't let your users to move to other brand (Samsung is the most probable)

I personally have no problem, because my XS works really great so far, but of course I do want to get a "more up-to-date" system.

ps: my SI is: 1257-0884 and I live in Indonesia (if you (Sony) need a 'survey')

I have the same Problem (germany) dosn't work with PC Companion or with Update service . The Update service crashed and companion ,,Upadte Error Components of the Software Update failed to install or run''

I hope Sony fixes this Problem quickly. It's not like Sony !!!!!!!!

In Chile the same problem. I was waiting for this update for so long time, and today it is so disapointing.... please Sony fix this problem!!!!
