Hi,
My sony xperia sp is not able to send messages to any no. There is no option to check the sms center number in the messages settings even. Can anyone help me out with this problem?
I suggest that you check the SMS center number under messaging > menu button > settings > SMS center. If the number is incorrect. Please contact your network provider. If the number is right and you still can't send SMS I suggest that you try to restart your phone, take out the SIM card for a while and then try again. If that doesn't help you should try with another SIM card.
You can't change you SMS center number
It is default from your network provider.
Is your phone number maybe new? E.g. Some network operators don't allow sending SMS/MMS until first phone call is made, especially when using prepaid sim card.
Alternatively you could try redownload Internet & MMS settings, maybe that will reset your SMS Center Number and allow you to send SMS messages?
(If you wan't to try, Go to Settings > Xperia > Internet Settings) - you need to have some sort of Internet conenction connection Wifi or Data to achieve this.
EDIT: I forgot to give another way to check/set your SMS Center Number -> type into phone *#*#4636#*#* > select Phone information > scroll down to SMSC box and push Refresh button. If it's ok it should show your SMS Center number. You need to know your Mobile Providers SMS Center number to check if everything is ok.
