I am having trouble connecting to apple wireless products via WIFI. My work office uses an Apple Airport Extreme with Wireless g. My X10 Mini Pro can see the network and remembers it, but when it tries to connect it immediately stops trying and says it's disconnected or it says that it is connecting but then disconnects anyway. I cannot resolve the issue with this. I have tried all the discussion suggestions.
However, my phone immediately connects and has no trouble staying connected to my Netgear Wireless Access Point at home with Wireless g. It connects regularly with little to no trouble.
The interesting thing is that I recently got an Apple Airport Express for my home to transmit a 2.4 ghz Wireless n signal and the same thing happens as when I am at work trying to connect to the Airport Extreme. My phone will remember the network, but it will not connect to it. All the networks are secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK.
Anyone having a similar situation or know a reason why this may be occuring?
I haven't seen much discussion concerning Apple routers, but my first suggestion would be to test without any password/security protection (on your home router) and see what happens; I'm not sure if this was something you tested while searching for a solution.
I'll check to see if I can test this out myself or have someone try it here in the office and see what we can find out.
For reference can you reply with your SI# (####-####) on the back of the phone, so I know what variant of the phone you have?
Thank you for answering. I will try testing without a password when I am home after work, but the SI# is...
After taking the cover off my phone I see a number at the top. It reads "P/N: 1237-7357". Is this the number that you are requesting?
FYI - There seems to be no issue with other devices connecting to these routers. So, the routers seem to be functioning properly.
I am having problems with the SDHC card, but the Wi-Fi worked perfectly with my Time Capsule ( Airport / Apple backup base + router ). All I did was select the network, and put the correct password, and I was in, no problems. Maybe it's the particular protocol you're using, I'm using a simple single password authentication (WPA/WPA2 Personal).
Hope it helps,
Jessica
I turned off password /security protection on my Airport Express and the phone still cannot connect. There is no difference from when I had security turned on.
The phone recognizes the router, but refuses to connect to it. Again thank you for your help.
I buy new one Xperia Mini Pro. I have same problem with my new Xperia and network based on Apple AirPort Extreme (with latest software) with WPA2 Personal authentication and Mac Adress filter disabled.
All rest my mobiles: HTC Hero, HTC Desire and computers works with any problems on same network. Xperia connect to this network, but can't receive IP adres from DHCP...
I tried also with no autentication (open network) and problem still exist. Xperia connect without any problems to my other tested networks (accespoints created from my laptop and from other phones).
What I can do? Any suggestion?
PS. Sorry, my english isn't perfect but perhaps understandable.
After many test I find the problem in my WiFi network. Xperia Mini Pro don't accept IP assigned from DHCP, if Airport Extreme is configured in "Internet/Connection sharing" as "Off (Bridge mode)". If Internet connection on AirPort Extreme configured as NAT/Share public IP, this type of coonection also accepted by Xperia
