Tipo touchscreen problem

I got my tipo on 22nd September. But only today i noticed that the drag or hold on the touchscreen never works! Be it for deleting home screen icons or the design unlocker thing. Is this a common problem. Also i am from kolkata,India.And it seems like no sony service centera are in my city. What to do?

I tested using the service menu .. there is visbile discontinuity.. line drawn up to down or left to right rarely gets completed full. Not a single circle was full even to 50%.. 

Attaching image of 3-4 lines horizontal and veritcal in the test with 2 circles.. below is the result.. so bad..

Every touch input mostly have to be tried 2-3 attempts.. not a single game of "cut the rope" can be played.. the touch screen response is really irritating

I tried the TOUCHSCREEN test as you said.

But my touchscreen is not operating propery.

When I open dialpad, automatically entered 7878787878 continuosly.

When I open write message, automatically entered zxzxzxzxzxzx continuosly.

In service test , touchscreen test also not proper.

This is software issue or hardware issue?

Customer suppoert replaced the touchpad before 8 months, & flashed the mobile 2 times til now.

And again I am facing the same problem.

I have a problem with my Sony Xperia tipo dual smart phone's Touch screen. I had to press the key harder in order to type a message and the applications starts running without my tapping.

Dear Nabeel,

Thanks for posting the way to see if whole of touchscreen is responsive or not. I dont have the screen shot of the touchscreen, however rightmost area in form of a vertical strip of around 1 cm wide is non responsive as I am not able to make any white line on that.

which shows that 'it' (i dont know whether my problem is the same which is addressed in this blog) may be software problem.

I gave my phone to original sony service center for repair and they suggested me to replace the touchscreen which'd cost me INR 3500. However the cost is around 1500 INR on ebay.in http://www.ebay.in/itm/Original-Touch-screen-digitizer-for-Sony-Xperia-tipo-ST21i-ST21A-/32134038397....

Please guide me what to do.

Dear Manas, 

Howmuch did they charge you for the screen caliberator replacement? They are asking me 3500 for it - Authenticated Sony Mobile Service Center in Ghatkopar East, Mumbai. And is Screen Calibrator replacement is same as whole Touchscreen change? The price as given on ebay.in is around 1500-1600

My tipo warranty expires 1 week ago. My problem is about touch. This is not settled by calibration software. Before warranty expires it solved by service center but now they saying to change display which costly. I m not able to drag icons ,not able to type a msg. I m live in bikaner Rajasthan and I m not satisfy with service center as they are not able satisfy because my problem came again and again. They do temporary solution not permanent solution. Plz help me to solve out this problem. Calibration software is also failed to solve
