Tipo touchscreen problem

I got my tipo on 22nd September. But only today i noticed that the drag or hold on the touchscreen never works! Be it for deleting home screen icons or the design unlocker thing. Is this a common problem. Also i am from kolkata,India. And it seems like no sony service centera are in my city. What to do?

Nopes, that isn't a common problem

Dial *#*#7378423#*#* in dialpad / phonepad > service tests > touchscreen > drag finger all over the screen and test it.

See how it works.

Upload the screenshot too

This is a common problem. Many tech review sites are flooded with complaints about touchscreen. My two handsets had this problem and the third one does not.
I strongly suggest Sony should look into this issue at the qality control level and check the quality of the screen functions before they actively market this product any further.

Three tests I suggest are:
1) Try typing an sms. By individual key press. You may find that you have to tap a letter several times before it appears in the active box. By gesture input - which is an amzing thing to have on your smartphone - you can type very swiftly and it works well if the touchscreen is good.
2) Pattern unlock. I could not set up a pattern unlock in my first two handsets which I realised only after getting this third good handset - it is very easy to set a pattern and use the unlock feature. Smooth.
3) As you mentioned - touch and hold to get a green box and a vibration after which you can drag the shortcut around to any of the five homescreens or even drop in in the trash can at the bottom of the screen to delete it. Again - a finction that worked only in my third handset.

I would not say this is a common issue. I also would like you all to follow  Nabeel 's suggestion about testing the touch screen in the service menu and post your results. I will monitor this thread.

I have seen many posts of Tipo touch screen problem. I had too. Went to service centre and installed touch screen caliberation. It started working fine. I am advising the same for all. I hope Sony will release this patch for public or as an update. Kindly do something immediatly before people start hate tipo. Thank you sony.....

Dear Support,

I would request you to do your homework before saying this is not a common problem! Watch any of the dozen reviews on youtube of your product and you'll realise people have a reason to complain. I hope I had seen the reviews before I trusted Sony and bought such a piece of crap.

I am utterly dissapointed in this product and feel cheated. I also learnt this morning that the Sony customer care in my town has shut down. Therefore, I have not been able to report it either.

I have tried what the moderator Nabeel has suggested, and you will be embarrased if I upload the results. Is it possible for me to return this brand new phone back to Sony and perhaps save some of my wasted money?

Suggestion: Call the entire range back and remedy the problem instead of denying it; it is earning your brand a lot of bad reputation.

I bought this phone yesterday.. Ran well only yesterday.. this touch screen drag seems to have started today itself!! Should I get it exchanged? Or.. is there an alternative?

PS- Tried what Nabeel said.. Dint turn quite as well as his screenshot..

Hi, I am not sure about exchange of phone. But this problem can be fixed by a sony mobile service centre in 5 mins. Slightly_smiling_Face
