I got my tipo on 22nd September. But only today i noticed that the drag or hold on the touchscreen never works! Be it for deleting home screen icons or the design unlocker thing. Is this a common problem. Also i am from kolkata,India. And it seems like no sony service centera are in my city. What to do?
what does it mean by calibration setting on xperia tipo ? how can i fix my xperia tipo scrren problem by myself without help of sony service center ?
Hi Nabeel, I took my phone back to Vodafone as I had ordered it online - there is no Sony service centre near me in Spain. They have sent it to be repaired/re-calibrated and I will get it back, hopefully working perfectly, in 15 days.......
i'm very remorseful to buy this phone, sony ericsson has been always my phone until today! it's over!. i never shall buy a phone sony again.
I spent a lot of money for this thing, I've tried everything and nothing has worked, I called the service centre and was told me only excuses, many excuses. plus I'm disappointed and I have so much anger, but no matter, because I know nothing will work. i shan't buy a sony ericsson and would never recommend for my part.

Hi everyone, I have the same problem that the touch screen is not responsive very often. I have a software background, here is what I observed and hope can hope sony engineer abit.
The screen is not always non-reponsive, but very often, I got feeling it is related CPU scheduling, when I start and close several apps, the screen become very laggy. I looked at the cPU usage and it seems to be reasonable. this cheap phone only has one core, so when it scheduling threads in and out memory, it seem the screen stop working. If you let the phone rest for a while (let CPU finish their task, the screen become good again, untill next pile of work load build up.
that my 2 cents
I will like this phone if I and you solve it's problems. I have problems with:
- launching Dial and SMS apps - cannot open, sometimes I need press more then 10 times to react,
- move analog clock over screen,
- also some other icon buttons and buttons inside some apps. don't work correctly, some of them open other app.
Test inside phone by calling *#*#*7378423#*#* works fine and it is correct, every part of screen accept touch
- Update server is always overloaded and I can't upgrade my phone.
Can you recommend some touch calibration software or something else?
Thank You,
Greetings from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Ive same Problem here, i came from Germany and got my brandnew Tipo Dual Today...
When i use the Touchscreen-Servicetest shown on the first Page of this Thread it seems that the Touchscreen will not realise Touches around the Screen in about 2-3mm Range - very frustrating if u want to use the Notificationbar or wanna start the Dialpad...
I made this Pic to show where it dosnt work correctly... in the Green Quarter it works perfectly, in the Red Frame it works nearly never... only after very very often Try... its even worse to get the Notificationbar downcoming...
best Regards from Germany

Update: after i reinstalled the newest Firmware via PC Companion (Newest Firmware was already installed when i got it today) the Picture was changed a lil bit... now the Bottom of the Touchscreen seems to work nearly perfect in the middle... but the left, right and above isnt work... but look yourself:
Strange isnt it? I think there is probaly the Wrong Touchscreen Driver implemented in the Software...
I bought tipo single sim on 15 October. I had the same touch problem. Then I kept the phone to Sony Centre for a day. Now the phone has no touchscreen problem. But the same problem is arising when the phone is connected with the PC through USB cable. Again, the same USB cable is used to charge through charger but no problem is found at the time of charging.
No Drag and Drop working on the phone. also no pinch to zoom.
Even i am facing similar touch screen issue. It seems it is a genuine issue. I am still not able to understand why no one from Sony (Nabeel) and others accept that there is a problem and the ways to fix it. Many companies from Automobiles manufacturers to Service providers accept that and also provide solution. What a disgusting attitude of Sony.
Atleast a note that the issue is experienced on many Tipo phones and team is working on resolving them would help people that Sony acknowleges the problem and is working on solving it.
I will never suggest a Sony phone to anyone.
