Tipo touchscreen problem

I got my tipo on 22nd September. But only today i noticed that the drag or hold on the touchscreen never works! Be it for deleting home screen icons or the design unlocker thing. Is this a common problem. Also i am from kolkata,India.And it seems like no sony service centera are in my city. What to do?

Hello!

I had bought Sony Tipo dual phone 2 days ago. Touch screen operation certainly has problems.

There is a phone icon in the right bottom corner of the desktop to start the dial keypad.

I need to touch it several times to start the keypad, sometimes tree times, sometimes five times. The icons in left and right bottom corners of touch do not operate reliable. I tried to press longer, shorter, harder - no relationship with reliability of start. It looks like software problem, processor monitors touch state with too big time interrupts, and it looses touch events.

I draged phone icon in the middle of touch. It started to react to touches more reliable. Dragged back to corner - again very bad response to my touches. So the problem is area dependent. There is a poor touch reaction in the bottom corners.

Finally, phone was brought back to the shop... I do not want to lose my time.

PS. Another Tipo dual was tried in the shop - the same problem.

lucky you man i tried replacing mine too but my retailer wudnt take it back so i m stuck with it i called their customer care today seems like they are not bothered with loosing customers at all, and now i am convinced they are not going to sort the problem out.

I spoke to a second-hand retailer. He says he'll give me no more than 7500 because the set is useless. I feel I will have to sell it him though dont want to waste any more tym.

I will never buy a Sony again.  And I'll spend tonight writing the most acerbic reviews on every online store there is so that no more people are cheated.

I've bought my phone yesterday in Italy, model Sony Tipo ST21i - serial number BX9035F3WX.

The touch screen problem is real, and here I will tell Nabeel and Samuel how to see it.

When you launch the Touchscreen Service Test, as long as you drag your finger on the screen it draws lines quite well.

BUT, if you touch one single point of the screen to make a dot appear on it (as you do whenever you want to launch an application) you will see that very often you need to touch the same point (that one single point) more than once, very often at least three times, and sometimes even more than five times!!!

I hope it is clear now; the problem shows up very neatly when you test the screen "as if" you are trying to launch an application, that is by hitting the icon only once.

Dude no use making complaints here. the official customer care support has said he ll b following this thread and has not made a single comment in the last 5 days! I called the customer care and they have no idea about my problem. I asked them about the software mentioned above by arjak and they had no idea about it either. It is the worst Customer care possible. Resell you fone at the earliest and save as much money as you can. I am trying to sell mine and am not able to get more than 70% of the price!

I had the same problem now its working fine

...Everyone is right there is a flaw in the S/W side of the phone

if u want to fix

go to your sony mobile customer care

give them your mobile and explain the issue.

they will take ur phone and instal some kind of patch or a fix for the solution

and thats it

I bought the phone here in Greece two days ago. It definitelly has a problem with the touchscreen. I have to press the buttons 4-5 times for them to react.

Also, pressing the dial button on the right down corner is also almost impossible ...

Please do something about this, it's a wonderfull phone otherwise!

i tried Nabeel's suggestion...it not working in the way described..the dots do not geet conected..the line is half only
