so when i updated to ICS i found my apps, data and settings were not changed but phone was a little laggy...here's what i did to get to improve my ICS experience...
1) restart the phone
after ICS update i couldnt view "running apps" as the settings would close abruptly....restarted the phone...everything was fixed....
some RAM was also freed during the process...
2) Factory daty reset
if ur data, apps and settings were not deleted by update then do a factory data reset on the phone and clean everything...delete media also....
dont forget to backup before u do a reset...
3) uninstall useless apps
my phone had some preinstalled apps which i never use...deleted them all...stop services like recommender and others that u dont use...
4) dont install crap
all those battery and RAM saving apps are crap when ur phone has 1350mAh battery and 512Mb RAM...they do more harm than good...
My Results: not more than 270-275Mb used at any point in time leaving 110-115mb free...also 20Mb+ was used up by settings services which will be freed when u close settings so u have roughly 125-130Mb free memory always...
