camera start up and maps

I have some questions:

1. Whenever the camera cold starts, it shows screen with " Loading" with a circle beside it for about 1 second, I am not too sure whether other android phones have such problem but my xperia ray and xperia V are having slow start up for cam app. While using Ray i thought the lag was due to slow processor and ram, but with dual core on V also having the same slow startup. WHY?

2. When open power management, the apps "maps" always show up top three highest of my battery usage, i only use one weather widget which update hourly, but the usage is 30% average everytime, does other app like facebook & whatsapp running location service at the background?

Well, I'd say that about 1 second load time of the camera would be quite acceptable. Regarding maps draining the battery it might be apps like facebook and other apps that uses maps/gps in the background. You can turn this off under Settings > Location services.

Thanks for the answer, switch off google location sservice does help.

However, I don't agree with 1 second delay is acceptable.I can accept if it is a 3rd party app but all those standard sony apps must be optimised with fast start up. Again maybe it is not sony fault, might be all android phone behave this way but i have yet to get a chance to test other high end android phone. I will test on other brand of android phone and report again. Thank you
