Hi there,
I have the same issue as these people here:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/56467
- Sony Xperia T
- About 1/2 months old
- Probably ran out of battery
- Next day it doesn't power on
Tried charging it with several cables, outleds (which are working on other phones) with and without sim/sd cards. Also tried power on without connecting it to power or usb to pc. What happens i just a red light flashing when trying to power it on (with power button). A steady red light when connected to power cable and tring to power it on (with power button). Tried the reset combination volume up and power button for 10 seconds with and without sd/sim card with and without power cable connected. All no go. Called provider. They will service the unit. I think it has something to do with the battery values in the firmware. And thus preventing it to power on for safety precautions of the lithium battery. Now I know it got a firmware update already. I just don't know if this includes a change to prevent these battery issues. Any idea if this unit has an update in regards to these battery/power on issues or if it will in the future? I want to prevent the same issue from happening again you know
Cheers,
Marc
Could you please send me your details in a PM, and will forward this for investigation.

I had a similar problem, the phone was unnable to turn on but with the green led on, and the response from the carrier SAT was "unnable to turn on, reinstalled SW, try to respect the charging cycles" :smileyconfused:.
And now I'm reading a lot of people complaining with the same problem, Xperia T are charging or sitting on a table and then they stop working anymore.
All are Xperia T sold in Spain, by Yoigo and Vodafone.
And again, some hours after having it back from SAT the phone is dead. Hope I can get a refund... Because I can see the "technicians" reinstalling the software and sending it back again ¬¬
Hi Johan,
So I received it back two days ago. Repair details show the repair center did a software update. Now I'm not sure how you would succeed in doing this if it doesn't even boot with shortkeys but I assume they pulled the battery out and maybe charged it manually. It's working for now but I'm kind of scared to let the battery level drop. The software version is currently still Andoid ICS 4.0.4 and build is 7.0.A.3.223. Is that the latest one?
The rest I will send in a pm and I will keep the rest of the world posted since it seems to be a hot topic. I sadly found a lot of results on the issue in combination with the Xperia T.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Marc
If this happens to anyone one of you please check the following.
1. Press and hold down the power key on the right side of the phone. If the battery status LED flashes red, try plugging the charger into the phone at the same time as you are pressing and holding in the power key.
When plugging the charger into the phone there is a risk that nothing happens – no red battery status LED as indication of charging, or nothing appearing on the screen.
If the charging doesn’t start, follow the instructions under To let the charger be plugged in for 24 hours.
2. If the charging starts, keep charging the phone until it’s fully charged. Indication of charging is that the battery status LED lights up in red, or that the SONY symbol appears on the screen and then the LED lights up.
3. Update the phone software using PC Companion, Sony Bridge for Mac or Update service. If no update is available, use Repair mode in PC Companion.
This should fix the problem.
To let the charger be plugged in for 24 hours
1. Plug the charger into the phone, and let it be plugged in for 24 hours. There will be no indication of charging, since the battery is discharging during this step.
2. Disconnect the charger from the phone, and wait for 20 seconds.
3. Plug the charger into the phone again. The battery should now start charging. It may take some time before any indication of charging appears (the battery status LED lights up in red, and shines continuously).
4. Let the phone charge until it’s fully charged. Then follow the instruction to update the phone software in step 3 found in section above.
5. If the phone doesn’t charge, send it for service.
@Johan
I'm sorry , may I just ask you?
Is it the way Xperia T was designed to have this kind of way to start up the phone?
Looks like too many people have this problem, is it software or hardware related issue?
Much appreciate if I get straight answer to this question.
Alright, thanks Johan!
I've been testing it for a few days now. Been running draining the battery for three times. So far so good. Phone powers off and when charged for a few hours it can be powered on again like it should. Seems like a firmware/software issue after all. Or at least i hope so. So to everybody here. Update the phone!
Cheers
Hi Cyrus,
updating phone didn't help me at all. So I had to send my one off to Three H3G repair center as it was on warranty and purchased from 3 UK. They said they completely reflashed it and it works fine now.
Good to know, for now this is closed for me unless it fails and you will hear from me again!
