No i don't use WiFi.I formatted the memory  and i could see that it stopped rebooting .

I'm still  kept in observing mode if it don't reboots  for next couple of days we can confirm that the issue is due to the corrupted memory chip. i will  conform the same by posting here after couple of days.

Many thanks to all you  guys who gave your valuable time and thoughts

I experienced this for the first time a few days ago when my 32GB SD card arrived and I inserted it. Copied music across and it was working Ok then it suddenly rebooted (67% battery left). It has not done it since but tends to add weight to the sd card theory.

Hi Sam,

Is there any patch or fix  for this. Seems this is coming due to inability in handling SD cards and  the applications installed from android market. Is the SE going to release and update in software.

Arc has just shut down. Came back to desk and nothing. Had to take the battery out to get it to boot up. Battery at 64% according to 'smart battery' app. Getting like my old htc touch diamond 2

After thorough testing here are my results:

1) Apps like Whatsapp and skype.  Either update them or delete.  Test if that solves the issue.

2) Transfer all your files from your SD card to desktop.  Unmount and format SD card.  Test.  If working properly, transfer files back to phone.

3) Tap your phone.  Drop it loosely on the table.  Throw it around a little.  It would restart most Arc phones.  Don't do it -OR- grab a piece of cloth.  I used eyewear wipers.  Cut it.  Take the battery out.  Put one peice in the socket where the batteries sits.  Put the battery in.  Put 2 pieces of the cloth between the battery and the case.  Close it tightly.  It will be more shock resistant.

Dundeal?  The answer is yes.

Cheers,

I haven't experienced a single reboot, I'm starting to think its only on the LT15i

but how about the camera and wifi issues

my arc is the so-01c from docomo. it started rebooting a few times a day, and now, it is rebooting about every 2 minutes. sometimes it will keep rebooting, and then hang, so i have to take out the battery and put it back in again to be able to use the phone, and then it starts rebooting again. if i use the phone, it is fine, it will not reboot, only when idle. but the phone is pretty much useless, i can't even use it as an alarm clock.

i have talked to docomo, and they said they would replace it but they didn't have any stock. repair was the only thing i could do, or buy another handset, but due to travel for work, i was not able to get it serviced in time, so i will have to wait until i am back in japan to get it fixed. but at this point, i'm not even sure if i want to use sony ericsson, there are many new models due in 1-2 months.

now in addition to rebooting, when i look at the desktop, some widgets and icons are no longer visible. when i try to re-add the icon or the widget, it says the home screen is full, so i guess that means the system considers the icon/widget to be there, but it's not visible to the user.

i was pretty sure that this was a hardware issue, but now that i am having this icon issue, i'm wondering if it is a software issue? i have reflashed the original rom 3x using se update service. i have reset to factory settings many times. even when the phone has no apps on it, just the original rom, it still reboots by itself. it also does this whether wifi or bluetooth is off or on.

can anybody from sony ericsson tell me what the issue might be? or how i could get service while i am outside of my home market? i want to use my phone!

I did the hard reset & updated it to 4.0.2.A.0.42 but the problem remains, it's still restarting...

take the SD card and SIM cards out, use either PC Companion or Update Service to repair your phone, w/o the SIM/SD cards in, check if the problem persists
