software update error

pcc says installation error while upgrading to ics

sus says unexpected error and doesnt start..

what to do??

So many users are reporting the same problem

i guess something is wrong going on with the servers

Try to use this

SUS ( Sony Update Service)  ... download and install it on pc and follow the on-screen instructions http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/Software%20Downloads/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.12.5.exe

                  or

http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/

Both the links are same

You should read it through carefully.

I get the same error.

The SEUS logs yeild this:

     Tue Jun 26 11:42:48 PDT 2012 | Failed to verify local storage: Failed fetching remote startupdata

Manually downloding and extracting http://emma.extranet.sonyericsson.com/ns/common/1/staticdata/staticdata.ser.gz results in an "unexpected end of file", and forcing gunzip to dump to the console works for a while, but eventually gives this:

     Loader_AIDt ♠SW_AIDtCust_AIDt ♦HWIdt ♣Modeluq ~ e ►▒

     gzip: staticdata.ser.gz: unexpected end of file

So, it looks like SE has a truncated/corrupt file at http://emma.extranet.sonyericsson.com/ns/common/1/staticdata/staticdata.ser.gz

Please fix ASAP, my device is dead in the water without SEUS.
