Smartwatch 2 will not connect to galaxy note 3

Having received my smartwatch 2 for Christmas, I am very disappointed to find it will not connect to my Samsung galaxy note 3 android phone, comes up with the following  -

Different certificates of host app and smart connect. host  app cannot start.

I have used SUS which has update the watch software but still the same issue with the smartwatch 2 software.

Any ideas? Before I return my £130 ornament to Sony.

Sorry due to my frustration with another piece of tech not working correctly, I haven't explained fully.

I have downloaded smartconnect several times.

I have connected the watch via Bluetooth, which seems fine, it comms with smart connect and asks to have the smart watch 2 app dowelled to my phone which I have done several times.

Its when it comes to try and connected with the smartwatch 2 app that I get the fore mentioned message.

That's quite odd, try this

on the SW2 > settings > reset smartwatch 

then try to pair it through NFC

I can't access the the SW2 settings it just sits there with the download smartwatch to to my phone icon. I've tried resetting the watch by holding the off button for 15 seconds, this has no affect.

Thanks for trying to help, this is a bit of a sod LOL.

I had the same issue and this is what I did 

phone > smartconnect > smartwatch 2 > settings > unpair > voila

Same here. Apparently it's a problem with latest update of smart connect, I use Bq aquarists 5. Watch won't pair, after a second or so it leaves the paired list. It's completely useless just screen freezes at download screen. I want to use my Christmas present so Sony HAS TO fix this NOW. or money back. I have many Sony products and very angry with this brand now.

To much christmas food i think, id ont quite understand that sequence?

Is this how i connect the watch or the sequence i go through on the phone?

Through the phone 

You can check on your phone settings > bluetooth and unpair it

Just to be clear what's happening for me -

Connect phone - works with Bluetooth or NFC

Then asks for smart connect app (if I have it installed or not)

Download app or start it - phone shows within the app and asks for smartwatch 2 app

Download the app says smartwatch 2 connected to smartwatch 2 app

But the watch screen freezes at the download smartwatch app to the phone image (app is installed fine)

I've tried removing/ resetting/ disconnecting several ways and different ways of the above.

Also updated the watch firmware using SUS.
