SI numbers, release dates, PDK, Approvals Jelly Bean To Sony Moderators & Community Manager(s)

To Sony Moderators and Community Manager(s)

There are multiple threads and posts with the same questions and this will NOT going to stop until Sony release a full official statement on this,

  1. What does "We will however, continue to support all these products with firmware maintenance releases"? will this fix the bugs?
  2. Who is in charge of approving the SIM Free updates per country?
  3. Who approve last Sony or a Carrier in the case that it's locked to a carrier?
  4. Did Sony received a Jelly Bean PDK?
  5. Will Sony fulfill or break the "AT LEAST" 18months software updates commitment/agreement at Google I/O 2011?
  6. How come the 2012 Xperias with the same or lower hardware specs, compared to the 2011 Xperias, run ICS smooth w/o all the 2011 lag/crashing issues?
  7. On the same subject as 5. Is sony going to fix all this issues and release an update to the 2011 Xperias w/o bugs?
  8. On the subject as 4. Will the Xperia Arc, Play, Neo and Pro will no longer be supported at the end of August? as it will be 18months since they were released
  9. Will the Current Xperia S be overclocked like the Xperia SL as this "new" xperia S will have the same hardware as the current Xperia S just overclocked CPU?
  10. Will Sony improve the Camera/Picture/Video quality? is this a hardware or software limitation? there are some users experiencing focus issues with the Xperia S, is this a hardware issue that must be recalled?

Yes, it might be Complex, yes it might be hard to answer but if Sony Developer were able to post a thread on how we get an update starting from the source code to the final product (just before approvals) I think this can be done, it'll be like a second part to From Source Code to upgrade release.

Also if you have another question feel free to post it and I'll add it to this top of this thread, try to make general questions not specific (i.e. when is my SI number will be approved/posted/etc, instead something like,  who can we contact to find out if our carrier it's going to release or not the update?)

I have been reading this post for the past hour and I would like to commend @uliwooly for his spirited defense on behalf of Xperia consumers like me. Also, commend the people who have been following this page and have taken the effort to put their thoughts into words.

Unfortunately, no response from Sony support reflects very badly on Sony and makes us (Sony consumers) look like a fool banging up our heads against a wall.

I am not sure I would be encouraging/recommending anyone to try Sony devices (and not just phones) in future.

I have added this post to keep this post alive and hope that someone from Sony notices it or chooses to stop ignoring it. The least Sony could do is accept that 2011 devices would not be upgraded to JellyBean just to save some money (and not the UX experience hogwash). I think we deserve atleast that respect.

On a seperate note - @uliwooly - How did you convince yourself buying a 2011 and 2012 device after the 2010 fiasco that you were clearly affected by?

Sony is making a strategy to sell some all devices, the U without expansion of micro sd, Xperia go to the low resolution, the sola with non-removable battery, J large display single core 1 Gghz.

I think it is quite clear is that for all the user has to contact TOP device, is that it takes a top marketing managers to understand Smiling_Face_with_open_mouth_&_closed_Eyes

Everybody read this, http://mayersononanimation.blogspot.com/2012/11/more-artist-exploitation.html
If such a relationship with the authors that engage Sony, then I understand what Sony thinks of its consumers, in short, we have your money-piss of. So, I think, no ICS maintance, no JB, no adjustable ISO settings ...
Sony convince me otherwise.

After the back-stabbing of releasing Xperia J with an announced JB update, Xperia E is a new addition to the Xperia™ smartphone range. This affordable smartphone comes with HD voice, data usage monitoring, and battery management. It also comes in a dual SIM version called Xperia™ E dual. Both these versions are powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon™ processor, have a 3.5" HVGA screen, and will be available from Q1 2013. Also, Xperia™ E launches with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), while Xperia™ E dual launches initially on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) but will be upgraded to Android 4.1.

So, it's management related, people!!!
