sd card music file transfer

I transferred music files onto an sd card directly from my Xperia Z yesterday to help save storage space and memory. Since doing so, walkman will no longer play 85-90% of my songs. They all appear in file manager in the SD card folder, they can all be played in walkman when accessed directly through file manager, and do not appeared be corrupted. When I try to play them through walkman, I get the message "cannot play song" has anybody seen this before? Is ther. A fix for it? Can I transfer the files back from the sd onto the phones internal memory?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You need to refresh your library / playlist Grinning_Face

As above, please try: Main Menu > Settings > Apps > All > Walkman > Clear Data.

when trying to transfer data to my SD card, I am now getting the following message: Transfer Interrupted. Check your SD card for possibly transferred data.

This is only a recent problem, it was working fine for months, no worries, but now it's decided to do this every time.

interestingly, it seems to have transferred some videos and photos over, but not music files. It is a 32GB Sandisk card, with plenty of space left on it (18GB).

I'm not technically minded so if anyone has any suggestions, I prefer non technical plain English if possible!! 🙂

Tried clearing walkman data - didn't work. Crying_Face also tried clearing winamp data (I have this installed too), but that didn't work either.

Any more suggestions?

There couple a few reasons for this; from a faulty SD card, corrupt music data to a DRM issue with some of the music files. Have you tried simply transferring the music files only via connection with a PC?

Dear Sony Xperia Support, the reason behind this is not faulty SD CARD but The faulty memory management in. Xperia Device, the fault is of Company and programming not The Sd card.
instead of blaming user and there SD card accept the flaw and try to correct it.

Same problem here, can't transfer music files to SD card. Photo and video work fine. I've tried to force stop all audio programs that could be using the files, but no dice. Could hook to my computer, but that's really inconvenient. Why doesn't it work?
