hi, I can't get the TTS Text-to-Speech to work.
I have gone to Settings > Accessibility > Text-to-speech output >
Blue button is enabled against Google Text-to-speech engine (the only engine there)
In the Google engine settings, the language is English (United Kingdom)
Voice data is downloaded
I have tried with the options for 'auto update voice' and 'only on wifi' both on and off
The Speech rate is set at normal, and I hear the different options when I try them
The "Listen to an example" plays the selected voice
Default language status says UK English is fully supported
But - I cannot work out how to get it to work - it's supposed to work in Messaging app, isn't it ?
highlighting whole messages, conversations, tap, tap and hold, tap/hold/highlight never comes up with any option to "play text-to-speech"
Any ideas ?
This worked fine on my dreaded iPhone (hurumph!)
