screen lock timeout

I have an Arc running Androis 2.3.4.

I have an issue with the screen lock and wonder if other have seen it.

i have anabled a pin passowrd. However, the Arc does not ask me for the pin everytime the screen timesout. i can simply unlock with the slide. Only after the phone sits blanl for a 15 or 20 minutes, it ask me for the pin.

I see no option to change or control the time between screen going out and when the pin is required.

any ideas?

I was thinking about that right now, I would suggest that you backup everything and then repair your phone with SEUS then delete mcafee

Do you think McAfee is the issue?

Also, sorry, what s SEUS?

Thanks!

1. you don't need mcafee

check all the permisions, but yeah just backup and repair your phone it should work fine after that

2 SEUS = Sony Ericcson Update Service

I did a clean install and repaired. The pin password works as expected until I enable the Activesync corporate email. After that, it goes back to the behavior I described earlier. So this may be related to the way Activesync policies are set up. My best guess!

Thanks.

Indeed that's the problem, I'll look into it

I removed the stock email program from exchange switch to Enhanced Email. This completely fixed the issue.

Also Enhanced-Email is a great email program.

I don't think using the Enhanced-email is the solution. As I mentioned on the other thread, this is definitely the problem on Sony Ericsson phone, or at least on the Xperia Arc S that I have.

I have the same setup on Motorola Milestone and Milestone 2, including the same Exchange setup. And it does not matter how long I keep the screen locked, I always get the unlock pin displayed after sliding the unlock bar. On my Xperia Arc S, with the exact same setup, I have to let the screen locked for a long time (possibly an hour or so - I am not sure) to have the unlock pin displayed.

I am using Xperia Arc S with build number 4.0.2.A.0.42.

I have the same problem on my Xperia P. And I don't want to buy Enhanced-email app just to testing is it work or not.
