Hi guys,
I have just recently started reciving a strange notice (4 times now), while using Google search, I get a message saying my phone has been corrupted with 4 viruses. It mentions my phone by type (ie Xperia M2) and it is already 28% damaged. Then it says that I must not back out, but proceed by pressing OK, if i do it jumps to google play, and seem to want me to download some strange app!!!
First of all, I check my AVG anti virus & CM Security - no problems
So, has anyone else experanced this, and what can I do to stop it??
Hi uliwooly,
Thanks for your comment.
This has only happend while I am using Google search (looking for crossword clue answers) no dubious websites. I can try running in Safe Mode, but then I would have to do this every morning when I turn the phone on!! and never know if it is realy making any differance...
Ok, done.
Hi bt4gee,
You may also want to remove all Google Chrome data, as the Google search bar and Chrome are attached, you may be getting ads pushed because of Data within it.
Menu > Apps > Chrome > Menu button > History > Clear browsing data > select it all except for passwords.
This makes some sense, see if it works..
Thanks
Bill
Anytime, let us know how you get on
Nope, it happened again yesterday.
I had done as you suggested and cleared the browsing data. Although I wasn't in safe mode though, because it restricts what I can do, however I shall leave it in Safe now for a couple of days, just to see what (if anything) happens..
Thanks,
Bill.
