Satio won't turn on after updates.

I've been using Sony Ericsson for so many years. K750, K800 & W950i.

Last 2years I've decided to buy Sony first fully touch screen phone(Satio).

I frequent the service centre as my Satio keep on hangging and shutdown by itself.

As its Sony's first touch screen, I believe this is normal.

All when well but after last year, it kept hangging again. This time, after I update a facebook software if won't on.

When I press the power button, the red light is on. The screen just hangs at the white background with Sony Ericsson logo.

Have done the normal troubleshooting, took out battery,replaced new original battery but status still remains.

Even when I connect my phone to PC, its just hangs there.

As warranty is out, is there any other way to troubleshoot? Or at least to retrieve files and pics in the phone?

Help needed urgently.

Currently I'm contented with G700be that I'm using. But I need all the files in my Satio. Pls help.

Are the files and photos in the satio phone stored in the memory card?

If it is you can take out the memory card and put it into a card reader and insert it into a PC

I've extrated files in the memory card.

But there are some sensitive files that are save to phone memory.

That bothers me..

Have you tried running the update again using the actual Update Service and not PC Companion?

Ok you have a tricky situation as if I were to suggest a software/firmware repair via PC companion or use the SE update service, it may bring your phone back to life but you will very likely lose your phone data and settings..

If you still are unable to turn on your phone after many more attempts, it probably is best to bring ot to an authorised SE service centre again. Slightly_frowning_Face

I can't get my satio to ON. Even when I connect it to computer, the PC companion unable to detect my Satio although the red light is ON.

Try using the Update Service application instead of PC Companion as this can be done without powering the phone on.

I've followed the steps.

I press and hold the call button before connecting to the usb.

It vibrate and the red light turns ON.

But status still connecting..never move forward to 'confirm'.

waited for 10-15mins. should i have waited longer?

this is so frustrating..i thought i've revived my Satio when it vibrate..haiz,,,

It is as apc_user suggested, if even after trying all the above and the phone is still not working I'd suggest you to contact your local Sony Ericsson support center for a possible repair option.
