remove emoticons

I want to remove the emoticons of my message (mine but especially other's) when read on my phone, is it possible to do that ?

I would prefer to not install another app for that.

You could try Settings - Language and input then select the current keyboard in use by taping the settings icon on the right of it then select Smileys and untick the option then try

but it doesn't work 😕 the only thing i can remove is the button to add emoticon to my message, but they still appear in the message people send to me...

i just want my ': )', not those yellow big faces

You can put the emoticon right after the last word,character etc. That's from your point of view. But of course what comes from others will be seen.
