proximity sensor fails when horizontal

Hi, on my xperia P - the proximity sensor does not work when horizontal or not completely vertical (45 degrees and up, between cheak to shoulder - the screen goes on). does anyone know how to fix it?

Are you sure you completely covered it during the process?Dial *#*#7378423#*#* and go to service tests,proximity sensor.Move your phone all over and cover the sensor.

thanks, yeah - covered everything.

and in the service menu - service tests- there is no "prosimity sensor", but only "proximity swith" and it indicates "off" when i press it

Sorry,it is proximity switch.It says off even if you cover it?Well,I suggest repairing the phone software.

Yeah,could be some apps interfering.Do you have viber installed?Or whatsapp?

Disable or uninstall whatsapp,see if anything changes.
