Problems with Xperia Link to connect Z Ultra to Sony Vaio pc running 7 Pro .

Just got a new Z Ultra yesterday, after sending the previous Z U in for repair. One week turnaround is impressive, given that this is Sony.

My dilemma is that I cannot sync Xperia Link with my Sony Vaio running Windows 7 Pro.  Did connect via Bluetooth, and it shows up under Bluetooth in my devices.  Mobile phone is running current 4.4.4 OS, with latest firmware update that was OTA, OOTB.  All apps are current and updated, with the exception of Google apps like Books, Music, etc., that are unessential, and did not update.

Sony Support states that it is the current OS that is making this unworkable.  So I turned to forums to see if anyone has this similar problem, and to seek resolution in this matter.  Manually turning on WiFi hotspot does connect mobile phone to pc.  Just cannot pair via Xperia Link.

Did you try to Connect with usb cable?

I connected ZU to pc, for data transfer. Nothing more

Your answer does NOT answer my problem. Xperia link is SUPPOSED to turn the Mobile phone into a hotspot. I cannot SET UP 🆙 .
