Hi,
I installed the Sony Ericsson Bridge for Mac application, but impossible to use it.
It says something like "The application closed in an unexpected way" (I use a French language mac). Sometimes I can launch it for a few seconds though, but then still get the error message.
Details or error:

Great Tip,
Had the same problem as NJC, then I followed your advice and removed Sony Bridge Preferences, however the procedure didn't go as smoothly, took me 3-4 times reconnecting the phone and switching between the modes before it finally accepted the phone and downloaded the update. Nevertheless, now that it did all of my troubles are thing of the past as much as I can notice so far.
Very happy now
!
Glad to hear.
I know there are a lot of problem with Sony software but they are getting better....
Hi NJC, i met the same problem like you, but when i ran my update again, it worked. So i advise you to reupdate...

I have aproblem with Sony Bridge for Mac.
I have the latest version (3.0) and I want to update my Sony Xperia Sola to ICS.
At first the program finds my phone and setup is starting. But just when the installation process begins and tries to find my phone (again), it shuts my phone off (or restarts it), leaving me a error message telling me it can't find my phone. This despite the fact that it found my phone just a couple of mintes ago.
Can anyone help me?
I have a problem with Sony Ericsson Bridge for Mac (don't we all!). I have an Xperia T and run Mac OS X 10.6.8
The application does not display I-Tunes content and it crashes.
It's extremely frustrating - I am at point where the Xperia T is going back to phone shop as I assume they sell this kit with the knowledge that it has problems. Hardly worthy of being called a flagship phone for Sony.
Anyone know of any solution?
Calum McKay

Good on you for highlighting an actual bug, in the mean time, try this if all you need to do is transfer files: http://www.android.com/filetransfer/
Similar problem here with OSX Mavericks and Sony Xperia T. It crashes when attempting to disconnect the mobile device during the Xperia software update process.
Here the full system.log in OSX when the crash happens (can paste it here since it is too long):

My problem is that in OSX 10.9.1 when I go to update my Arc S (LT18i)
New software available
Now 4.0.2.A.0.62
New 4.1.B.0.587
Bridge for Mac starts initializing and goes no further. - i followed the steps to get to that point.
It also seems difficult to shut down BFM after this
In the manage device area the following do not work - they are grayed out:
Backup
Restore from Back up
I have access to itunes etc on teh rest of the panel.
I also have a separate issue but someone might know here - I am not getting calls from overseas phones. I went to the call barring area call settings/call barring/
All settings are marked as Disabled although I am able to make outgoing international calls
when I try and change one I get
"Call settings error
Unexpected response from network"
