Power button won't turn screen on

Just updated software and now have the same problem.

Hi, same problem meaning? Can't boot up phone with power button? If this is the case, it could be a hardware issue.

You may consider sending phone to service centre for repair.

I think Polky means the problem where the phone is in sleep mode and pressing the power button to wake it yields no result. You have to press it multiple times to make the screen display work, (note the backlight is unaffected and still comes on, just nothing is displayed and you have a grey/black screen).

most of the users have this issue(including me). i hope sony will fix this issue in 4.3 update.

Yes you are correct. Sorry I wasn't very clear in my post.

After performing  a recent software update I now, on occasions but not every time, have to press the power button twice or three times to activate the screen. I've had the phone for three months and have not had this problem prior to updating software.

Am also getting the same problem, in first unlock- the grey display appears, in second unlock the display get works,

How the people got similar hardware problems, i think the problem has came with software side, Thinking_Face

Just add a another count for this issue, also this issue has been complainted in another forum too, so count that person too

Suggest turning off the auto brightness to see if that helps. Also make sure you reinstall software before doing it.

I'm.also facing the same problem with latest firmware.
And my phone also gets heat up so much.
