Phone keeps turning off.. Very disappointed

I've had my sony ericsson for just on a year now. When i first got it, was fantastic!! In the past month if I browse facebook or just use my phone, it turns itself off. I took it back into optus shop and they sent it away to be fixed. They sent it back saying that its out of manufacturers waranty and that its just wear and tear.. I've got to say I'm very disappointed in Sony. I have a two year contract with Optus and I dont even have a working phone for the whole two years?! Not Happy Jan.. Has anyone else had the same problem??

Hi there,

Are you running the latest software? If not you can update your phone using Sny Ericsson pc companion and /or Sony Ericsson Update Service.

Yes I'm running the latest software. Checked that before sent it away and again when I got it home. Still no good

The same problem with me but the thing is SE won't do anything about it, not only does my phone restarts itself it it makes a weird buzzing sound before it switches off and that my phone heats up so I have to take it out every 10 minutes.

Have you had your phone looked at by an authorised repair agent? If not I would highly recommend doing so based on the problems you have described.

Yeah, they said they couldnt fix it because it wasn't there fault eventhough I haven't dropped it or anything. I even talked to an agent on there chat line they said there qualified people and all that stuf...

Yea optus sent it off and got it back with a report ( cant find that mind u :smileysilly:) but it said something about BER and would cost more than phone itself.. Would be interested to know how long the manufacturers waranty is actually for??

Onto optus at the moment to see what can be done because at the moment im paying for a phone in a 2 year contract that only lasted a year 😕

It would be good to know what the damage is as BER means "beyond economical repair" which generally implies that it is damaged and that the damage is to a major component such as the main board. If you can find the job report that would help shed some light on this matter.

My xperia X10 also getting restart from last 2 month.

There is no specific activity during which it restart.

i thought it will fix by repair option, i make repair so many times (2.1) but no solution.

yesterday i update to 2.3.3 but still same problem...............

SE.......please give some solution for the restart problem
