Overheats and shuts down itself

My xperia z1 keeps shuting down and overheating, i tried to use the xperia companion program but it still doesn't work, i thinks is a problem with the hardware but i still don't know what to do, the warranty already xpired, any ideas of what could i do to fi it?

The phone won't overheat, it will shutdown if it gets too hot, you could boot in >>> safe mode for few hours to see if it gets too hot.

For now i have to let it charge i don't know why but now it just has 1%, wait it just turned on it self, it has now 65% this is wierd

oh right i have more info each time the xperia turns on the light is red instead of green, and it can't be a third party app because i did factory reset, the temperature it got was about 41.1ºC.

Also, is running android 5.1.1 (lolipop)

That seems to be a hardware issue

I think it may be a battery problem it could explain the charging issues

I'm with @uliwooly on this one, it seems to be hardware-related. I recommend that you contact your Local support in order to have your device sent to an authorized service centre for examination and repairs.
