Not able to delete sms after update

Hi Team,

After Xperia M2 Lollipop Update 5.1.1 build 18.6.A.0.175 I am not able delete the SMS.

When tried to delete the SMS it says "Conversation deleted" but the sms is still there only.

As suggested in the one of the previous forum asked me to try the same in "Safe Mode". I have tried the same but its not working for me in the "Safe Mode"

Hi @Krish0117,

I suggest that you change your default SMS app to Hangouts temporarily, can you see the message and try to delete it in that app?

You can set the default SMS app if you go to Settings > More > Default SMS app.

But its actually not working properly for me.

Could you please advise.

Hi Ashwin,
Thanks a lot for your support.
Plz find below my comments.
For d 1st solution - I have tried all the options to delete sms but it's not working.
For d 2nd solution - It seems to b a good option but sorry I can't take d risk of this option bcoz the app only give option to delete incoming sms/outgoing sms /draft sms.
That means it will delete all the sms of that category which I won't prefer bcoz I will loose my sms data.
Could you advise any other option or effective way.

Hi Ashwin,
Just to add on to the above post.
I have tried using the appnwhich u have suggested.
I have created a draft sms and saved in my phone. Now the app gives the category of draft sms. I tried to delete that draft sms with the help of the app but unfortunately it's not deleting the sms.

Well... Krish0117...

Thats unfortunate... 😕

Then, there's a one thing u can do... if u have so much of messages u dont want to lose.. then, try MYPHONEEXPLORER by fjsoft [PC Software] and, backup all the messages then, reset message backup... or try deleting them thro MyPhoneExplorer...

Thanks for giving it a try...

@Krish0117 You could make a backup of your messages using the pre-installed Backup & restore app in the phone, then erase all messages using the app suggested by @AshwinRuffian and finally restore your messages from the backup and try to delete again.
