Hello,
I just bought anxperia go from this website in the uk. The phone is unlocked and unbranded by any carrier. The os is stuck to 2.3.7 and when I check for update, the phone doesn't find any.
Yet on this website, jelly bean is said to be available.
One option would be to install via a PC but my computer is too old so PC companion cannot be installed.
Any idea howi can get the update and why the phone isn't finding it? I think this phone might be returned to Sony mobile very quickly if it doesn't update,..
Thanks in advance.
Was it ever locked to a carrier/network branded, even if its unlocked now?
No I bought it new and direct from this website - Sonymobile.com so it has never been locked or network branded
Is it possible to borrow a computer?
Since its a major update you will need a computer either a PC (PCC or SUS) or a Mac (Bridge)
Bridge (for Mac)
Alternatives on How to backup Xperias
No I can't see who I could borrow a computer from. Computers are personal with pictures saved passwords etc... People are not so keen on lending their computers, especially when I explain I have to download a large program on it...
So overall there is no over the air update?!? I can't believe I'm gonna have to trot return this phone to Sony just days after buying it.
I'm clearly not gonna keepa phone that won't upgrade to jelly bean...
Its a major update so you need a computer either a PC or Mac, what if you stop by a sony repair center?
You may use the unofficial way because ur phone is unlocked bootloader.
