No more bluetooth handsfree since 4.2.2 update on xperia z

Hi,

since the update of 4.2.2 that was released a couple days ago the bluetooth handsfree connection to my bmw does no longer work. Removing the pairing and pairing again (which works) has not fixed the issue. It worked without problems before the update.

What can I do ?

Thanks

Jörn

But for downgrade a version I think it's needed to have a firmware. I can't find official ways to get a previous firmware for my phone. So how I can to resolve a "Sony's" problem?

I guess we have to wait and hope Sony would issue a fix for backward compatibility between different Bluetooth specs.

I am able to pair my phone to my car but am unable to view address book or call lists. It has worked intermittently but now appears to have stopped completely. Vauxhall say that it's the phone and not their kit. My partners phone works fine too, she has the Xperia S running on Android 4.1.2. I have deleted, unpaired, reinstalled factory settings etc and still have problem.

I have a 2012 Insignia SE Sports Tourer with the Navi 600 installed, I had the optional Bluetooth fitted and this shows as UHP8525 when connecting to my phone. My phone is the Xperia Z running on Andoid 4.2.2.

Any help would be gratefully received as unable to use phone in car for outgoing calls. As I travel c30k miles ayear, this is a major problem.

For those who can't wait a resolve a problem with address book - yesterday I found a program in Google Plat called Bluetooth Fix Repair it can do a job instead Sony. And now again I have an address book in my car. But you need a rooted phone for use this program.

Hi I have a Xperia U personal phone and a HTC Desire Z company phone. Sony Xperia U I can connect to my 12 reg Hyundai in car Bluetooth and make calls but cannot load phonebook (got a message just once asking to allow Bluetooth access to my phonebook clicked yes then it errored and do not get the message again) very frustrating.

HTC Desire has the same software and works fine.

So come on SONY GET THIS ISSUE FIXED, enough of us are getting the same Issues and don't blame the car manufacturers it is up to you to find a solution as more and more cars come with Bluetooth enable phone connections

I have had the same problem with mine connecting to my Ford Territory.  Have tried un-pairing and re-pairing.  The devices pair, but only audio works.  Have lost all ability to use my phone hands-free.  Phone is not sharing contacts, recently call lists with the car.  Previously my phone asked if I wanted to share the contacts with the car on first pairing, but this doesn't happen since the updates.  Very disapointing.  Agree with the expensive doorstop comment earlier in the thread.

Sony please fix!

i havent even got my new car yet and there is already problems with the bluetooth audio and the car.  we sat in the new car for ages, got the phone to work (no contact list) but the audio wasnt working.  It started to work but intermittently.  Something wrong with the software and phone.

starting to regret switching from apple!

Until Sony has understood that there is something wrong with the latest version, you can try this workaround, that works for me.
Switch off bluetooth. Go into settings / apps / all / Bluetooth share, press the "Clear Data" button, switch on Bluetooth, and then it works again.

Latest update (.67) fixed this bug.

It is working fine now.

Thanks Sony, for fixing back what you've broken.

Nope. Did all that stuff with Settings/Apps//All/Bluetooth/Clear Data & that doesn't work either. One of the Admins on this or another part of the Sony Forum said it is a problem with firmware version ending in .244 and we should all update to the 'current version' which I I recollect correctly he said ended in .267. He went on to give a link to a piece of software which can be downloaded to do this direct with Sony if the normal 'Update Software button' says you are up to date.

This does not work either. The software states that .244 firmware is the correct current software.

Tried calling Xperia UK Support but they're an outsourced 3rd party bunch of geordies who seem to thinkthat putting the blame on (in my case) BMW was the solution to getting me off their back.

Come on Sony - It doesn't workproperly - just issue a fix and admit it. I know the Japanese don't like to lose face but how about losing business instead? Or if you have issued a fix in firmware .267 then let us all into the secret of how to install it.....
