No more bluetooth handsfree since 4.2.2 update on xperia z

Hi,

since the update of 4.2.2 that was released a couple days ago the bluetooth handsfree connection to my bmw does no longer work. Removing the pairing and pairing again (which works) has not fixed the issue. It worked without problems before the update.

What can I do ?

Thanks

Jörn

Hello,

I recently purchased an Xperia ZR. I am very pleased except for one problem. It all started when I could not transfer the phone book and call list to my bluetooth handsfree in the car (Kia Ceed 2013) I tried everything possible, I reinstalled the phone book, tried with only a few names, contacted Kia without help and searched various forums. Finally I did a repair with PC Companion. Then yippee suddenly it worked. But to my disappointment only until I turned off the bluetooth on the phone and on again. But now I've found a workaround instead of resetting / repair each time. I can go into settings / apps / all / Bluetooth share, pressing the “Clear data” and then it works again. Every time Bluetooth has been turned off on the phone (to save battery life, etc.). I’ll get the same error message in the car that the phone book can’t be transferred. But with the workaround above can I fix it.

I would appreciate if Sony was able to identify and fix this bug in the next update.

Bennfors.

Go to Settings > Power Management > Stamina mode > add Bluetooth to apps active in standby.

Sorry, It also does not work with Stamina mode off. I have no problem either with Stamina mode active and the phone in standby. Problem occurs when bluetooth was switched off at some point.

Sounds strange! I haven't heard this before.

I suggest that you contact the car manufacturer to see that you have the latest software for car installed.

If you have I suggest that you try your phone against another car.

H!

I have the same problem. But I have a Xperia Z. Before I updated a firmware at Xperia Z I used it with VW Golf and everything works fine. I can read an address book from phone thru bluetooth module. But after update I can't work with address book, my car's bluetooth module can dial but haven't access to address book. How can I fix it? About car manufacturer - there's no possible to changer a firmware for bluetooth module.

Before doing anything to the phone I would advise checking with the manufacturer for the car's Bluetooth module for a list of compatible handsets/Android versions to check if your phone/Android version is compatible.

Manufacturer of my doesn't give such information - which firmware will work with bluetooth module. AGAIN - I CAN REPEAT - BEFORE UPDATE EVERYTHING WORKED! As you see - not only for me. Or is it Sony's official politics - if that combination will not work leave the phone, sell a car? Your engineers have made a mistake in firmware, so please accept it and fix it.

Simpler solution, downgrade to previous version of the Android.

This issue will happen everytime there's a new update that affect BT. Regardless which device it connects to, if the other device does not suport newer BT specifications, it won't work. And it's obvious you have to update the ither device as well. It' s common sense. But, when it comes to BT unit in cars. the update usually involve money. Usually paid to the authorised disributer/workshop to upgrade/update the car systems software as well. And since it cost money, a lot of users will just request that the phone manufacturer to fix(or downgrade) it instead, since it's free.

So the answer is really simple. Since u can't update the BT for your car, you should dowgrade to previous working version of android since we won't know if/when tthis will get fixed.
