Neo V new ICS update to avoid rebooting bug

Few months back my Neo V started restarting continously when i updated to ICS. In order to use the phone, i got it downgraded it to GingerBread through an authorized service center.
I wanna know whether any stable ICS update has been launched, so that i can start using ICS????

Hi,

I updated my NEO V to ICS the day it was made available in India. Needless to say I m facing trouble with the phone from day 1. I dont wish to indulge in mud slinging and blaming SE for a bad update, rather I would like to explore options to go forward from here on.

Comming to the issues.

1. The very first day after the advice, the Android process crashed. That too when I was recieving an incoming call and no other apps were running in the background.

2. Home screen has become painstakingly slow. The Ram most of the time shows 110 -120 MB free. With Gingerbread even with it below 100,the phone used to work fine.

3. The dialer takes ages to open. Many a times the phone process itself shuts down. All this despite the fact that, I have already disabled Live Wallpapers. With Live wallpapers on, the less said the better.

4. I dont have many games on my phone, except for angry birds. After the Update, it has become a torture to play it, simply does nt move at all.

5. Official Fb app. force closes every now and then. I stopped using the official app and am now using web.  Using web browser makes the phone painstakingly slow and it takes ages to scroll even simple pages.

I expected the update to not be all that great after all the reports, but did nt expect it to be so bad either. Sorry to say, but it ruins the whole experience of owning an android smart phone, to the extent that I m begining to regret my decision to buy a SE phone. I hope the support staff are working towards fixing the bugs reported by the users.

Are there any fixes for the problems I mentioned? Anybody facing or faced similar problems please advice..

Update/Repair your phone via PCC OR SUS

PCC (PC COMPANION) – Repair your software with this .First do the setup without connecting your mobile to pc.(only connect when you are asked to).

Do it as follow >> PCC > SUPPORT ZONE> SOFTWARE UPDATE> REPAIR SOFTWARE (written with blue)

Regarding Angry birds, the problem is with the game. Game developers would soon fix it

@nabeel i updated to ics on my neo v bt i was facing prblm with it so i reparied it using pc companion..bt the prblm is partially solved the prblm earlier was slow functioning of d phone whereas nw its doing a great job...bt whn it comes to gaming...games like angry birds(all 4 version space,rio,seasons and the original one) when started dont respond and temple run it reads all my left/right swipes as jump...can u solve the prblm related to both games i luv these games and these dnt work nw on ics....should i revert back to GB and whts the procedure to that reverting back to GB..is going to service center n getin prblm solved optin avaiable.?plzzz tel me n also advice shold i revert back or stay on ics bt i realy luv new ui and features of ics...waiting for ur reply.?

Thank god except games all is solved

As i said the problem is with the games and not ICS.

Nothing can be don regarding it until game developers fix it

I won't suggest you to downgrade to gingerbread just because of games as ICS is a better program

But if you want to downgrad there are 2 ways-

1) service center

2) unofficial way using flashtool in which your warranty would get void

hey but if ill downgrade will these games start responding.?and another question is that will the sony ppl at the service center charge for the downgrade procedure and if any then mention.!! i jst want my phone to perform better n eve my games too....!!! any tips n tricks for ics on neo V again thnxx.!!!

Yes those games would again work

They may or may not charge, it varies with region

No tricks because games are not compatible, thats the reason, once the developers fix it, ICS would be amazing because it is a very fast program

@nabeel look wht the problem is angry birds it responds somtimes and somtimes it fails to repond....raging thunder 2 lite which was fun on gingerbread..it lags on ics...temple run...i jst unistalled it cuz it reads all my swipes as jump...bt on gingerbread there was no problem..!!:smileyhappy: this was regarding the games...after the upgrade..the phone's performance is affected a bit..jst a bit ...that is the only thing i can rejoice for...!! even u have upgraded ur arc s on ics do u face any similar issues regarding games...n a bit diff. in the performance of the phone.? if any plz tel me...!!:smileyhappy: the another doubt i have is i have a sd card of only 2GB:smileysad: so does that affect the performance cuz i have games almost 20MB n above.!! advice me 8GB or 16GB of sd card cuz my frnz say that 16 gb lags.!! n another thing is i jst found visual diff. in gingerbread and ics...wht are the other diff.?....n thnxxx for being so helpful n kind throughtout i expect that u keep solving my probs...!! n i hope that gaming experince on ics gets better soon...thnxx again nabeel...ur the best..!!:smileygrin:

Hi,

   I have recently upgraded my neo v to ICS and faced the same issues as stated by vibbs above.

So I repaired it with PCC as advised by you. Now every thing is fine except the Dialer,

It takes sometimes upto 10 seconds(or more)to startup. Should I do another repairing?? Please sugest.

Everyone is facing problems in playing birds and temple run.

Performance- Arc S feels super fast, ever then before.

P.S.- i have rooted my phone and removed bloatware that uses Ram and interal memory

Nopes, go for "16 GB Class 6" memory card and your device won't lag at all.....Device is not affected if it contains an 8Gb or 32gb......... so go for no less than 16 GB
