Hi
I upgraded my OS last week, now the wi-fi hot spot doesn't work. My devices can connect, but cannot access email/web pages etc
Is this a known fault?
Can you please elaborate?
Which phone model do you have? What happens when you connect to a Wi-Fi network? Have you tried with different Wi-Fi networks?
Hi, sorry should've given more info.
I have Sony Xperia T on T-Mobile (UK)
I recently upgraded to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (Build 9.1.A.1.1.41)
Previous to the upgrade, I have always used the phone's Hot Spot capability to link to my iPad and allow me to surf the net/email etc when not in a WiFi area.
Since the upgrade, the hotspot appears not to allow any internet access. The hotspot turns on as normal, the iPad connect as normal (the WiFi symbol appears in the toolbar) however I am unable to browse webpages or send emails. Eventually, the browser (Safari and Chrome) returns the "no connection" error message.
Having browsed the web, it appears to be a common problem following the 4.1.2 update.
I can browse the net on my phone with no problem, and my signal strength is always H+ when I attempt to use the hotspot.
The iPad works fine on home/openzone WiFi networks so I can only assume that the Phone's 3g signal is not being transferred to the iPad by the hotspot....
Any help you can give you be fantastic,
OK. Have sorted this. Did a factory reset on the phone (apparently this is required due to files from the previous OS being left on the phone) and this seems to have cleared the issue
