MTP problem

Hello, I have problem with connecting my device in MTP mode, MSC works normally.

Win7 x64 SP1

Media player 12 is installed

Sony companion shows popup "Device is connected, click to open sony companion", but then it says "no device connected"

Device manager shows that drivers weren't installed properly. If USB debugging is off, then there is SGP621 with driver problems, with USB debugging SGP621 device installs normaly, but MTP device with driver problems appears.

In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{EEC5AD98-8080-425F-922A-DABF3DE3F69A} there is no MTP keys, so I can't delete them.

What else can be done to make this damned MTP work?

Sorry to hear that you're unable to install the MTP-driver.

Try right clicking the MTP device with the exclamation mark in the device manager and uninstall it. The connect the tablet to another USB-port on your PC and see if that helps.

If it still doesn't install, try clearing data for the app called Media Storage under Settings -> Apps -> All and then restart the tablet. This will not delete your files.

Nope. Tried both methods, but driver problem still remains.

Have you also tried to uninstall Windows Media Player and reinstall it? When you install Windows Media Player in Windows XP, this should install the MTP-driver. Also try to install PC Companion if you don't have this installed. During the installation, PC Companion will try to install this update if your PC doesn't have it.

If this doesn't help, do you know if your tablet works in MTP-mode on other computers?

I've reinstalled sony pc companion and disabled and re-enabled media player (there seems to be no way to uninstall it in windows 7), there is progress - now pc companion at least see my device and try to install it (only with usb-debugging mode on). But still he fails to install and device don't connect. As for other computers I can't try it now.

Sorry, i misread your first post. In Windows 7, the version of Windows Media Player included does have MTP-support.

Before going any further i think it would be a good idea to check if this is caused by your tablet or if there's something wrong with your PC. Looking at Microsofts forum i see they suggest uninstalling the USB-controllers from the device manager and then scan for hardware changes in device manager to reinstall these in case the MTP-driver doesn't install properly but you might want to check with your PC support first before you perform any such action.
