Pictures rotate when sending

Can anyone help please... When I take a picture using the camera on z5 premium in portrait mode when I then send this picture on via any method... FB, VIBER, WHATSAPP, MESSENGER, EMAIL it rotates the picture 90 degrees. I have cleared thw cache turned phone on /off but no good. Its driving me mad my old z3compact didnt do this. Help.

I'm sorry to hear that.

This is something that i have forwarded internally. What you can try and that may help is to take the picture using the camera button on the side of the phone instead of the soft button on the display and see if that helps.

Thank you for quick reply, this does not help, still rotates the picture when sending. Any more ideas?

Have you checked with the person you're sending the picture to if it's rotated wrong when they receive it? When i test this here, it's rotated correctly in Messenger in the phone that receives my message while Messenger in my phone sometimes rotates it wrong.

If you're sending a new picture, you could also try to take it using the app itself.

Yes I have checked and it does not correct itself on some apps like viber or FB and sometimes messenger. Also if i post my picture on FB it does the same. I could try to take picture within an app but the quality is not as good and really I shouldnt have to do it this way even if it was to work. I should be able to take a portrait picture using he camera and send or post it shouldnt I?

It may depend on which app that is used and how that app handles rotation of images. It's something that has been forwarded internally to see if it's something that we can solve from our end.

I've just received information that there will be a fix for this in the update to Android 6.0.
