Move keyboard switching button

I switched from the Z1C with 4.3 Jellybean, to the Z5C with 5.1.1 Lolipop recently. I used to have both the International and the Japanese Xperia keyboard installed, and switching would be done through the notification area at the top of the screen while the keyboard was active.

Now, the location of the keyboard switching button has changed to the bottom right corner, next to the app switching button. This is literally the most inconvenient position on the entire screen. As I use gesture/swipe typing, unless I pay extra attention, every second word or so my palm will touch the bottom right corner of the screen, which opens up the pop up to choose a different keyboard. It makes using gesture typing with just one hand almost impossible.

Is there any way at all to move that button to a different position? Even just moving it to the left side would completely solve the problem. As it is, every time I need to switch keyboards, I now have to go to settings and disable all keyboards but the one I currently use, just so that the switching button doesn't get in the way.

No they can't be switched. Atleast sony enables us to use third party app and disable all others. Some OEM don't even let us do that, 😐 example motorola etc

@Anamon

It has been posted before, I'll try to escalate this.

Is there anyway to change this?  My palm hits it nearly every time I type.  I love the Z5 but I am seriously considering selling it because of this issue.  Drives me wild.

Came here to ask the same thing. It makes typing normally virtually impossible. Please avail this option to the end user.
