missing memory

Hi, i have a memory problem.  The memory on my sd card seems to be disappearing. It used to work, i had lots of apps but now i have had to remove loads. i have been playing one game (megapolis, which must be storing data somehwere because when i close it the memorry is reduced even further. but looking in the manage applications file, i can't see it and the amount of memory left no way matches the amount that is allegedly used. does anyone know how to clear the block? i'm very low tech, do not want to reinstall anything.  Thabks very much.

If the memory on the SD card is getting lower after playing a game, it is most likely that the game is saving data to its folder stored on the SD card, this is done to maintain save game data.

thanks, but how do i access this folder? you would think it would be over writing previous data but instead it just seems to be using up more and more. i've deleted cache, i've even tried deleting the data in the manage applications thing, but there has been no effect.

You would need to find out what the folder name would be for that specific application, from there you should be able to find the data you are looking for.

if this was a pc that wouldn't be a problem, but i don't know how to find the folder? this phone is like a black box, where are the files? if the data doesn't show up in the applications section, then where is it? i won't know the name of the file until i find it.

OK.  So I plugged it into my pc and had a look at the files.  The game seems to be storing a massive amount of data in one of two caches.  One cache is empty, the other with about 400MB.  I don't know what I can delete from that, but have left a message on a forum associated with the game. 

But I also found that some journal apps I had downloaded had stored loads of info on the card.  These did not get removed when I uninstalled the app and aren't visible when I look at the phone.  Is this normal for a phone... I would have thought that removing and app removes all the folders and files that went with it...
