com.sonyericsson.unsupportedheadsetnotifier data usage

Hi,

I notice that an application called com.sonyericsson.unsupportedheadsetnotifier is using a large amount of data (~6MB in 24h).

Has anyone else noticed this, know what it's for and know how to stop it using so much data?

I have an Experia Mini.

I wonder if its is

settings -> sony ericsson -> usage info settings -> uncheck send usage info

I have got that option set but for wi-fi only.

According to the 'Track your 3G' app it's also sending the data over 3G.

I'll switch it off anyway to see if that makes a difference.

you don't quite need it

*UnsupportedHeadsetNotification.apk --- Possibly a notification when pairing with unsupported bluetooth headsets

Interesting. I've never switched on Bluetooth on this phone (only had it a week).

Still not sure how to remove it or stop it using data.

I have done a 'Force stop' on it. Let's see if it restarts itself at any point.

Are you sure you're not just looking at how much RAM memory it's using and its CPU time?

I'm using the Track your 3G app which shows me how much data each app has used over wi-fi and alos how much over 3G. UnsupportedHeadsetNotification is top of the data usage list.

A headset isn't necesserily a bluetooth headset. It can be a regular pair of earphones. Even the earphones that were supplied with the phone are recognized as a "headset" by the phone.

That's odd. I'll check it on my phone.
