I imported my contacts from my old (Vivaz) phone and have attemted both methods,
PC Companion via USB and via Google.
All my contacts only have one number or no number, so where I previously had a Landline and mobile number for a contact I will now only have one of the numbers.
It is not an option to copy toi sIM because the Xperia s uses micro SIM.
Please help me get sorted.
http://www.fjsoft.at/en/downloads.php Have you tried transferring your contacts from one phone to the the other via My Phone Explorer on PC?
Hi Dr chris
thanks for your help, but I could not get the My Phone Explorer to recognise my old phone,
What I did to resolve the issue was to :
Syncronise my old VIVAZ to OUTLOOK
Exported the Contacts from OUTLOOK to CSV file
Deleted all contacts on my new XPERIA S, Deleted all Contacts from GOOGLE Contacts.
Imported the CSV file to GOOGLE Conatcts
Syncronised my new XPERIA S with GOOGLE Contacts and I have all my numbers for all contacts.
On the My Phone Explorer website, it actually states that with Symbian based phones such as the Vivaz, you need to synchronise with PC companion/suite before MPE will recognise the phone.Otherwise, you may have to change the COM port number in MPE's connection settings.
In any case, I'm glad you found a solution using outlook (to which MPE will syncronise anyway) and google.
