Can you use Miracast on a monitor instead of a TV.  I have the Dell U2711 monitor.

I AM GOING TO BUY THE SONY E SERIES VPL-EW276 PROJECTOR AND I WANT TO KNOW IF I USE A HDMI CABLE WILL IT PROJECT MY PC SCREEN ON TO THE PROJECTOR AND WILL IT PROJECT THE AUDIO AS WELL??

My PC does use WIFI but does the monitor also have to have WIFI capabilities as a seperate entity?

your monitor has to be miracast compatible for it to work

As for the PC and/or projector you are on the wrong forum, but HDMI to a projector will only trasnmit Video unless, which is highly unlikely, the projector has speakers.

How do I know if my monitor is Miracast compatible even if it is not shown on the website you shown me, does that mean is not compatible?  How do I find out?

If its not on the list its not compatible, now there is another option, you can buy a Miracast WiFi Dongle and then it should work.
