Mini Pro - keeps ringing??

Hi there, got my new X10 Mini Pro a couple of days ago. happy with it overall (except for the battery life) but today I have been having major problems with it.

It keeps ringing! I had a couple of texts, which I read, then the phone just kept on ringing. Totally bizarre. I tried everything - changing the settings on ring tone etc, vibrate only, nothing has worked. The only thing that works is turning it off & on again (but when I receive another text, off it goes again!). I eventually just turned down the volume but obviously this is not practical. I drove all the way home with it ringing merrily beside me!

I saw on another forum someone else has had this problem, but no solution was offered.

I tried changing the ring tone, but even after choosing another tone, it still rang with the other tone, ie 2 different rings at the same time!

A friend says her blackberry does the same, and requires the text to be acknowledged. I tried this, even deleted the messages, but no joy.

anyone have an answer for me?

Thanks Slightly_smiling_Face

I will offer up the same old chestnut but it does resolve a lot of minor problems... try doing a repair/reset via Sony Ericsson Update Service.  It will wipe your phone so make sure you have contacts backed up to sd or synced (or both!) You will need to start the phone setup from scratch afterwards so apps can be reinstalled from market etc.

I also read something similar too may have even replied, thought it was on this forum.  Have a look on the More Like this box to the right of the screen to see if anything pops up that helps.

added to Suzeis chestnuts (they are a delight arent they!?:smileyblush:)

get some anti-virus software downloaded an running, so far all the ones i have come across on android are free and 'seem' to be effective.

if the master reset fails it could just be a faulty handset in which case take it back to the store and throw it at someone, although the legal backlash could be costly, so rather imagine yourself throwing it at someone until you are calm again..

....and remember dont take it out on sales people/ store clerks; otherwise your phone "...might have to be sent away for repairs sir/madam...How long you say, oh roughly 6-8 weeks..."

I'm telling you they do it on purpose man... its a conspiracy!!!!!!!

(BTW the 'Big lebowski soundboard needs to come with a disclaimer.....:smileysilly:)

There is no need of a master reset. You just go to settings, SD Card, USB and click factory data reset. If the problem stil exist, you will have to follow what Suze said. Don't worry about a failure in update. Even if it fails, it wont add up problems to your phone. Wish you good luck.
