messaging app crashes

i was wondering if anyone knew why the text messaging app of my phone is crashing?

it will open to the list of conversations but as soon as i click one it comes up with the error message unfortunately, messaging has stopped.

i have tried the 'clear data' option from the apps menu

i have also tried the repair function from the pc companion and after that the app was working however when i restored all of my information to the phone the error message came up again!

this only began happening after i updated the phone

any help would be welcomed, this is all very frustrating!

Since you do not receive this error message without restoring any data, it sounds like there are some corrupt data or similar that is causing your problem. Have you tried to restore one thing at a time to see when exactly the problem occurs?
