Memory Card Unexpectedly Removed (32GB Class 10 Micro SD)

Hi everyone,

In November I purchased a memory card from Amazon for my new Xperia T:

Sandisk Ultra 32GB Class 10 Micro SD Card with SD Adapter

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007JTKLEK/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i01

This worked at first, but after a month or so I kept getting a message on my phone saying the memory card had been removed. Turning the phone off and on sometimes solved this but often the error would come back within a few minutes. I'm now using the 8GB class 6 card from my old Sony Ericsson Elm and so far haven't had any errors (but then I didn't originally have any on the 32GB card for the first month or so).

I've returned this now and received a refund. At first I assumed it was a manufacturing fault as reviews against the item said other users of phones from other manufacturers were also having the same problem, however I've since read it could be an incompatability due to the fact the card is a high speed class 10.

Before I order another card can anyone tell me which 32GB cards are compatable? Should I order another class 10 or will I have the same problem? Or is it because it's a Sandisk 'Ultra'? I bought the fast memory card because I play back a lot of mp3 files and like to use the video camera (if that makes any difference on the speed I need).

Any advice will be appreciated!

Regards,

Stu.

Unfortunately, we have to solve the problem by ourselves, as Sony knows well this issue (it is supposed the Support Team reported this issue), but still happens.

Don't be surprised, this phone has many issues since long time ago, and they are not fixed yet.

Perhaps one day Sony will decide to do somehting, but I am zero confident that they'll fix anything in this phone.

Sad but true.

If the phones are new, ask for a change. If you're on time, DO NOT choose any Xperia. Go for another company.

There have been reports that Sandisk bothed up a batch of 32GB and 64GB memory cards manufactured before Dec 2012.

As for me, the SD Formatter-formatted Sandisk I have seems to have started removing itself unexpectedly again--this time, on the .200 JB update to my acro S. Reformatting it via the SD formatter does not seem to make a difference. I'm now trying to explore whether it is a physical problem (too thin a card causing intermittent connection problems). I stuck a small cellophane tape on one side to act as a gap filler/cushion of sorts and make the card a wee bit more tightly in the slot. Honestly, I think this is a long shot Slightly_frowning_Face

If this doesn't work out, I'll try swapping in 16GB Class 10 cards from Ridata, G-skill, and Kingston. Maybe those will work better.

Its been a while since I last posted on this issue. Few weeks back after failing to mount or being flagged as damaged, the Class 10 card wasn't recognized at all, no data, docs, photos, music, vids all gone (Lucky I backed up!).  I have now replaced with a class 6 and no problems at all so far.

After trying in vain to get my third sd card to work (this time a Samsung class 6) I've handed the phone back to Vofafone and they're shipping it off for repairs :smileyalert:... let's see what happens now ... looks like I'll also have to beg for some compo for the £50 in cards I've wasted.. not good.

You should use a class 4 memory card!

Same problem with a 32Gb Sandisk Class 4 running CM 10.1.2. SD Card unmounts constantly. It was not as bad on CM 10.1 but since 10.1.1 it's barely useable.
