My Albums is useless!

I find the Album app almost useless! The Pictures tab dumps everything in one place with no rhyme or reason and the My Albums tab consists of albums that I am never going to use.

Is there any way I can either (a) customise My Albums - e.g. get rid of Picasa, random devices I pick up on my client's office wireless, Globe, etc and create my own usefully named albums or (b) get an app that will provide this functionality so I dump Album off my home screen and leave it festering in the background?

I'd even pay for something, it's that dire to use. Some days, I miss my Galaxy SII...

The album app displays pictures after time/date with the latest on on top. If you want to create your own albums, make a folder in the phones memory using either a computer or a file manager and then move the pictures you want in the album into that folder. The name of the folder will then be displayed as an album under either Internal storage or SD-card in Album -> My albums.

I don't know of any way to remove the default albums but there are 3:rd party album apps that you can try on Google Play.

Also check this thread if you want to hide certain folders: http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/509577

It would be nice to be able to create our own albums / pictures organized as we would like to and displayed in Album app as we want and not only organized by data/time.

Thank you.

To get rid of Picasa, FB & twitter folders go to settings -> apps -> all and disable Xperia Social Engine Sharing (there are several - the corresponding icon shows which service you are disabling). I'm not sure about getting rid of globe. I think the album app is somewhat lacking too, e.g. no exif data.

Thank you for the helpful tips and suggestions. I'll check all that out.

The phone is brilliant, just taking a while to get used to some of the 'features'!
