Massive Battery Drain Problem

Hi Forum,

I hope someone can help me.

My Ray is completely draining in 3 - 4 hours with excessive heat from the back, near the top. I've tried a factory reinstall through the Sony Update Service to ICS 4.04 but the problem remains.

I've read discussions from people with similar problems but havent seen a solution without rooting the phone (which i dont want to do in case i have to send it for repair).

Any advice is welcome!

Thanks

Adrian

before you do so, it seems to be an app, but lets test it

charge it 100% > use it as you normally do > once it gets to 50%

go to settings > about phone > battery use, take screenshots of the list, of the graph, and tap on each item on the list and copy the info and post it all here

Thanks for the reply. I dont think it is an app problem as the factory reinstall removed all the apps i had. The battery drains with the factory settings.

did you synced with facebook inside xperia? google plus? mcafee? if yes to any of this, fbix will drain your battery fast as it tries to sync all your albums, same with google plus will try to auto upload all your pictures and videos, mcafee it's horrible and unnecessary it will run in the background and drain your battery, and also will cause a LOT of issues

No, i've not synced anything. McAfee is automatically switched of in the version of ICS i have.

Plus, the battery also seems to drain even if the phone is switched off. I bought a new battery but it does the same thing!

I guess i've got to send it back but it takes 28 days to repair and i dont want to be without my phone for so long.
