Hello.
I upgraded to Marshmallow today and I like it so far. One thing I've noticed is that my Wifi isn't turning off when the phone is locked and in sleep mode like it used to in Lollipop. In my phone settings, 'Keep Wifi on during sleep' is set to 'NEVER' – and yet it's staying active. Why is this? It's draining my battery unnecessarily.
Go to settings - location, tap on 3 dots and disable wifi scanning. It might help.
I already have that disabled. Wifi still remains on. There's clearly something wrong in Marshmallow that's allowing it to stay on despite it being set to never.
That shouldn't happen though. We have quite a different story now:

Can you boot in safe mode and check if the same occurs?
Well, I am not making this up. My Wifi is staying on despite me setting it to never and disabling scanning.
I understand. Can you try out my suggestion?
I tried it, Alex. When I navigated there, it was already disabled as per my previous settings, so I couldn't disable it again. Unless you wanted me to turn it on and disable it again, which I've just done. Wifi stays active.
Sorry, I've just spotted your safe mode suggestion. I'm in Safe Mode now and it's still active. In Lollipop, whenever the phone was in sleep, Wifi would turn off. Then when I used the device, Wifi would come back on after a few seconds. In Marshmallow, it's staying on all the time.
Let me try to find more about this. Thanks for trying out the suggestion.
Thanks, Alex. I appreciate the help.
