The touch screen problem and brightness of the screen is not a issue in the firmware, it's just the hardware that's coming short.
The screen is just not that responsive, it kinda freaks out when touching with two fingers. I always just swipe left or right in album and not pinching or zooming. And the high brightness on the lowest setting has always been like that.
Deal with the fact you have a mid-range phone, the high-range phones will be better.
Although Sony phones always have issues when reading other topics.
I agree, before my mid-range xperia L I had a low-range Samsung Galaxy Gio, which is like the cheapest samsung. And this phone has a muuch better touchscreen. I've had a lot of fun with this phone, but as my next phone Sony won't be my first choice. Sony's developer team is really bad at making the phone running stable.
By the way, I found this 'solution' for the brightness:
Google on 'Xperia L low brightness' and you'll find something on XDA.
A root is required, if yours isn't rooted you can also install an app from the play store called 'screen filter'.
This will do the trick as well, only not as good as the one on XDA. But it works!
Well are you sure about this? if this touchscreen problem is ROM based issue, Then Sony should think about giving Xperia L update as soon as possible.
Using Gravity box 3.2.1 xposed module i have fixed my brigthness issue.I just set the value to 10 and it seems comfortable.:smileygeek: i can even reboot and change my settings to hight low or auto without loosing my default low.
